Modeling Decision Making

A meetup about modeling decision making
Socio-economic systems such as enterprises can be modeled as autonomous agents that receive information about the state of their environment, make decisions based on that information, and then act according to the decisions they make.
Often the rules that underlie these decisions making processes are not clear to us and even if they are, formulating them in computational terms can be quite challenging.
In this meetup, we explored how to model decision making processes in the Business Prototyping Toolkit, using both knowledge-based approaches (where we encoded our knowledge of decision making into algorithms) and learning-based approaches (where the machine learned to make decisions through trial and error).
The event started with an online presentation – we then opened up a "virtual coffee lounge" with a video share and online whiteboard for post meetup discussions.
